In total gastrectomy, the complete stomach is excised and the end of the oesophagus
is disconnected from the stomach and surgically joined to the small intestine. The complete stomach has been damaged and has completely lost its function leaving the complete excision of the stomach as the only option.

So one might ask how do people without stomach survive, well, there will have to be some changes that will be employed in order to cope with living without the stomach. one of these changes include;- A change in diet and feeding pattern; now living without the major food storage vessel in the body, the patient will have to be taking meals after short periods of time and in bits because the churning and breaking down factor of the stomach is not available. as time goes on, the patient gets used to life without a stomach and lives healthy.
note; the stomach actively participates majorly in digestion of proteins and the small intestine digests proteins too. so upon the removal of the stomach, the small intestine carries on as though nothing happened.
when they tell you in an argument they don`t have the stomach for something, don`t probe further. maybe they really don`t have a stomach for itππ.
I love you
